The town of Makarska, one of the famous Croatian touristic places, is attractive for it nature and good climate.  Makarska is the center of the micro-region, Makarska Riviera, owing to its geographical position, cultural and historical importance. It has 2 bays: main port that is naturally protected with Osejava cape, closing in from the southeast side and peninsula of St. Peter's from the northwest, and Donja Luka, amazing beach bay. The town expands amphitheatrically up to slopes of mountain Biokovo.

Makarska has rich cultural and historical heritage, Francistian monastery with malacological museum, cathedral church of St.Mark, church of St. Philip, but also amazing nature such are long beaches, clean sea, pebble and cliff coast, long pine forests. The nature park Biokovo dominating above Makarska Riviera, is the good destination for botanists as well as walkers and cyclist. The beauty of Biokovo has always attracted explorers and visitors and you are likely to be thrilled too. The Biokovo Botanical Garden Kotišina  displays all the local plants of Biokovo. The botanical garden features over 1,200 of the local plant taxons and this includes a large number of endemic species of flora. Today it is a centre of tourism and one of the favourite destinations in Dalmatian riviera. It is a town of smiling and courteous people, who are almost only dedicated to tourism.
